Nigerian Fulbright Scholar Visits the Universidad del Este

The Universidad del Este (UNE) of the Ana G. Méndez University System  hosted the visit of Dr. Olumide Longe of Nigeria, a Fulbright Visiting Scholar-in-Residence at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Monday, March 5th and Tuesday, March 6th of 2012.

During his two day visit to UNE, Dr. Longe gave three special presentations.  His first presentation entitled, “Even Though I Walk in the Valley of Shadows on the Web: Analyzing Authorship in Cyber Crime Investigation”, took place on Monday, March 5th from 9:00am to 10:30am at the UNE in Room C-106 (Annex Building). Dr. Longe’s second lecture, entitled “Guilty as Charged: Neo-Institutionalization of Cyber Criminal Activities”, was held on Monday evening, March 5th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm  at the UNE in Room LG 101, Pasillo/Hall G.  Dr. Longe gave his keynote presentation, entitled: “Nigeria: History, Culture and People – The Tale of a Triplet Nation”  Tuesday, March 6th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm in the UNE Salón de Actos conference hall.

Additionally, during his visit Dr. Longe participated in an interview on the PBS Channel 40 television program UNE-Vision, hosted by Dr. Jaime Rodríguez Cancel. Dr. Longe’s visit was sponsored by UNE’s Office of International, Federal and Corporate Affairs and UNE’s IEN Business School.

    I have come to have great respect for this distinguished Nigeria scholar, having come to know him recently. Dr Longe is a rare gem of the Nigerian Academia. I am sure the world should be expecting more from this great scholar.I look forward to meeting him for mentorship.

    Dr. Longe Olumide is a rear gem, distinguished by His enormous contribution, hard work and experience in the cyber world, i wish i can be there when a I.T. sage speaks.
