“A Summer in Brazil” – by Nashira Cariño

Foto_Brasil_Nashira Cariño_Agosto 2014My name is Nashira L. Cariño and I am a psychology student.  This summer I had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program in Brasil through UNE’s membership in the International Student Exchange Programs (ISEP) consortium.  I visited important sites like the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. Through this experience I learned not only about the culture of Brazil, but also about the cultures of the other students around me, who were from many other countries, including: Colombia, France, Italy, among others.  It was an experience that helped me to grow both personally and professionally.  I urge all students to take advantage of opportunities like the one I had.  It is a very enriching experience.
