UNE Welcomes Two New International Students

Hanna and AnnUniversidad del Este is pleased to welcome Hanna Jousala, a new international exchange student from Finland, to its main campus this semester. Hanna is studying at UNE as a visiting exchange student from January to May 2015.

UNE is also pleased to welcome An Shengxi (“Ann”), a new visiting professor from China, to its main campus this semester. Ann is teaching Mandarin courses to UNE students, faculty and staff from January to May 2015.

After their arrival in January, Ann and Hanna participated in general orientation sessions offered by the UNE International Affairs Office, the Student Affairs Office, and the Office of Security and Safety, which provided them with general information about the university and Puerto Rico. The Director of Social and Cultural Activities, Emmanuel Colón, took the new students on a tour of Old San Juan along with other international students and study abroad alumni.

Hanna and Ann have expressed their excitement about the opportunity to meet and interact with UNE students and faculty, and they are actively participating in classes and getting to know their classmates and professors at the university while enjoying all that the Island of Enchantment has to offer.
